I had 3 hard drives in my system. A 1tb, 2tb, and an SSD.
I formatted my 1tb and SSD and reinstalled windows.

I transferred files from the 2tb to the 1tb fine a few days ago, but it's randomly stopped working.

If I try and copy stuff from my 2tb to my 1tb now, it just stays at 0% for hours.

What could be stopping it?

It could be anything to permission rights to do with your user account.
Or a sata data cable that has just gone bad.

So you have any spare free sata cables though it seems to hard to believe try using it between the drive effected and the sata port of your motherboard.

If you installed windows 10, then make sure you installed the drivers off the motherboards driver support dvd provided as a matter of course if you have not already done so mckevstah.

It could be down to something as simple as the chip set driver package needing to be re installed to control the north or south bridge chip set of your motherboard properly. Sata controllers ect.

I will try that, thanks. I actually totally forgot to do that.

Update. I installed them, which I should have done anyway, and it didn't fix my problem.
On further inspection, it might be some hidden folders that stopped the process.

I was trying to transfer a game called ARMA 3. It had hidden mod folders and that's what was stopping it. I deleted them and now it transfers fine.

One problem that still persists that I did not mention in the original post, is that it seems to be running really slow. I click on it and it takes about 40 seconds to load up the folders. What could that be?
