Hello All,

I have recently noticed that i am not able to view any of the hidden files/folders on my PC anymore (in any drives).

  1. I select the option to view the hidden files/folder (i tried this in both "control panel -> file explorer option" and from "view ->show->hidden files" available on any open windows)
  2. nothing really happens
  3. if i reopen the settings, the "show hidden files" option is unchaked again (what strange is that both options are unchecked as shown in the picture below, one of them should be selected by default)
Any suggestion?

That works for me, it stays marked as hidden as well

Try this:
right click start button

choose windows terminal (admin)
if it doesn't open as powershell, click the drop down arrow in title row and pick from list

copy/paste this command into window:

Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth

and press enter

Then type SFC /scannow

and press enter

Restart PC if SFC fixes any files as some fixes require a restart to be implemented

First command repairs the files SFC uses to clean files, and SFC fixes system files

SFC = System File Checker. First command runs DISM - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/what-is-dism?view=windows-11
