Hi, i have tried for a long time now to update my gpu driver. I recently bought the gpu used, and the previous owner confirmed that it worked as it should. I installed it, but when wanting to update the driver (directly from nvidias website, not through geforce experience) It gets stuck on "prepearing to install." My windows has been kind of buggy i will say, with lots of stuff not installing, and simply freezing. I am running windows 7 64 bit, although the system files are called "system32"... idk

Specs:
Mb: Asus p8z77i-deluxe
Cpu: Intel core i3-2100
ram: 8 gb 1333mhz corsair
gpu: 980 ti founders edt.

I am getting an i5 3470 in a couple of days, i might add.

Anyone able to help?

I have tried deleting all of the old drivers and such, to no avail. Tried using DDU, but it got stuck on " trying to create a system restore point" Tried using CCleaner, it would not run, just froze and crashed. Tried flashing BIOS with a 2014 version, did not help.

Currently the screen is quite stuttery.

The gpu detects by windows as "standard VGA graphics adapter"

My monitor is a dell u2711 1440p monitor, but is detected as "generic non-pnp display on standard vga graphics adapter"
