Unable to use scanner with Win 7

Hi,
I have a scanner model - Umax Astra 5600 which I was using since last 6 years on Win XP.
This scanner hav no drivers available for win 7 as the company discontinued the product before Win 7.
I tried searching driver over web but no use.
As I'm using Win 7 for all my work I have to use XP only for the scanner.

I'm wondering is there any way that scanner will work with Win 7?

It will be huge help.

Try Using VueScan. I got the same issue with and old ACER 320U scanner and with this program I made it works under W7.

I tried VueScan but end up with error message "Unable to find scanner..."
I think this app works only when driver of the scanner are inbstalled.
Anyway thanks for suggestion.

If all else fails, you could try installing a virtual machine and install an xp OS then scan it from there.
To get them out you could:
1. Copy Paste the scanned file out of the vm (I think oracle supports this)
2. Connect a flash drive and copy it from the vm
3. Open a Web Browser and upload what you need (FB, Mediafire, Google Drive, etc)

Sound strange. I am sure I have not use driver for my scanner.
I will check when back home and let you know.
