I have just set up a tiny LAN with a router an XPhome pc
and a WIN2000pro pc. Everything else is working fine
(print server mapped folders to XP pc, internet
connections, firewalls etc.) EXCEPT I cannot share any
folders on the 2000 pc. Right clicking the drop down menus
gets no response when clicking the "sharing" option (nor
any error msgs); I've also noticed that the "properties"
option is also getting no response, which is why I'm
posting here instead of a network-related topic.
I'm scratching my head- I can see the two pcs in the
workgroup from either machine, I can connect to mapped
folders on the XP pc from the 2000, but there it's just
not letting me share a folder on the 2000.
Additional info: Have admin rights on both machines; have
ms file and print sharing installed (print server works
fine); using a D-link router connecting to a DSL modem
(PPPoE); all 2000 service packs/patches/updates have been
installed.
This is getting on my last nerve- any advice?
