I have a problem... when I look at the properties for my 40GB Maxtor drive, I see I have 25GB of used space, but when I add up all the folders in the drive I only get to 21GB...

so my question is...
where is the other 4GB ?

~ where is my translocator? ~

Due to partition information, you can never utilize the full, complete space in a hard drive. 120GB will always show up as 114GB or something close to that, anyway with my 27.2GB it shows up as 25GB. If you divide a single hard drive into multiple partitions you can gain a little bit more space than if you had it all on one partition, but that's about all you can do. Also you can run scandisk, it fixes the amount of free space windows thinks you have.

This little cathode light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine!

Also a file takes more space then its size due to "allocation units" so a 1 KB text file on NTFS takes up 4 KB.....
