I need help! I have an all-in-one-HP computer that is not booting and tried to re-install Win10 but got a message that "I cannot install on drive because is gpt style."Initiated HP EFI Diagnostics Scan which report no error. Ran some diskpart commands and still was unsuccessful. But I noticed volume is now in RAW state when viewed with diskpart. How do I resolve this issue so I can have Win10 on the computer running again?

Your system should have a restore partition, is that what you used to re-install Windows? If you are just wiping the disk and installing Win 10 clean on it, start the Windows setup off the boot disk, go to Advanced disk options, delete any partitions you see listed there, select the empty disk and continue with the setup. That should enable the setup to run. Keep in mind this will wipe the disk and set it up like it was new.

Thanks hang-the-9! Tried deleting the partitions as adviced, still didn't work. At diskpart prompt, I typed the following to prepare the PC for a clean installation:
> list disk
> select disk n
> attributes disk clear readonly
> clean
> convert to mbr
> format fs=ntfs label="g" quick
The format process reads "0 percent complete" for sometime after that I get an error message "DiskPart has encountered an error: The parameter is incorrect ." The HDD is 1TB and shows RAW which means no Filesystem in place for OS instalIation. How do I resolve this? PLEASE ADVICE!!!

The drive may be bad. What exactly happens when you start the Windows setup after the partitions are wiped? Do you get the same GPT error?

Thanks for your response. When I start Windows 10 Setup, it boots from USB...without the USB it says "No Bootable device found"...But when I type diskpart with the command,
> detail disk
HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA100
Disk ID: 8249497F
TYPE: SATA
STATUS: Online
PATH: 0
TARGET: 0
LUN ID:0
CURRENT READONLY STATE: No
READ-ONLY: No
PAGEFILE DISK: No
HIBERNATE FILE DISK: No
CRASHDUMP DISK: No
CLUSTERED DISK: No
STATUS: Healthy
FS: Raw

>detail volume
READONLY: No
HIDDEN:No
SHADOW COPY: No
OFFLINE:No
BITLOCKER ENCRYPTED: No
INSTALLABLE: Yes
VOLUME CAPACITY: 931GB

I was able to do quick format for 20GB partition from the disk and started the OS installation was halted after some minutes with this message ..."Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files for installation are available and restart the installation. Error Code: 0x8007045D. "

Also, diskpart displays error most times when I enter command > format fs=ntfs label="G" quick. DiskPart has encountered an error: The parameter is incorrect. . Is this happening because the HDD is ITB? PLEASE ADVICE.

No it's not happening due to size, but a 20 GB partition is not really big enough for the main partition. Do not mess with diskpart, you should not need to do anything with that since the Windows setup will create and format a partition. Start the Windows setup, go to Advanced settings of the disk options when that comes up. Delete all partitions, select the disk to install Windows on and try the setup. If it gives you an error, it may be a bad disk. Try another disk then.

Still unable to install it. Got an adapter to connect the HDD to my laptop and formatted it with NTFS filesystem. I tested it by saving some documents from my laptop to it and it worked well. However, after reconnecting with the All-in-One PC and started installation, I got this Windows Could not format a partition disk 0. The error occurred while preparing the partition selected for installation. Error code 0x80070057. What I don't really understand now is that the HDD works well when connected as an external to my laptop which means it's okay. Could there be some other faults/config required in UEFI/BIOS setup. Also, PC reset on UEFI displays Unable to Reset your PC. A required drive partition is missing. Can this drive partition be restore? Why couldn't Windows install on the HDD? Am positive there is a way out but not exactly sure how. PLEASE advise on what to do!
