[SOLVED] Uncontrollable Fan Speed

Hello.

I've recently just did a fan repair for my GPU with my friend. During that repair, i accidentally broke all of the cables on the fan (it's a long story). My friend, who knows much more about computers than I (he's a college student), soldered all the wires back in. I'm pretty sure he soldered the correct wires into their spots too. After booting up the computer, I immediately notice that the fan is spinning faster than usual. After loading up MSI Afterburner, I messed around with the fan speeds and found no difference between 0% and 100%. When my friend was soldering, he told me that one of the wires controls how fast the fan spins. I'm pretty sure that somehow he soldered something wrong, but I just want to make sure because I do not want to bother my friend.

As for the power, it has no pins. This is a 1050 ti.

Im sorry I read it as cpu fan. If you have no control over the fan then I would check the length of the wiring to make sure there is no break anywhere else. Having said that, the wires are so thin damage could be anywhere inside and not be seen.
