Uncorrectable hardware error 0x00000124 HELP!!!

Recently, My friend tried to build a new PC but after the windows install it continuously BSOD's, not quite sure why, the timing is random.

We tried replacing the HDD, which did no avail. So i am not sure how to advise from here.

here is the specs list

WESTERN DIGITAL Caviar Green -1TB
AMD 3870k APU
INTEGRAL PC3-12800 DDR3 PC Memory - 4GB DIMM RAM
Gigabyte SA-A55-S2V motherboard
OCZ 500W
Windows 7 64bit ultimate

now he's not getting the BSOD anymore.......

but when he restarts, as windows closes upon shutdown, the screen goes black and white (stripes), i assume the computer freezes also

now it gets a BSOD for 0x0000003d error....
