[SOLVED] Under-performing Corsair RAM (would welcome advice!)

Hi all,

I built my PC a couple of years back now - I know it is far from high-end and a bit of a mash-up of ageing components, but hoped someone could help with a problem I have. My user benchmark came back (see above) with most things performing OK, some performing as expected (old HDDs) and others under-performing massively.

The main concern is why my Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 (16GB) is performing so poorly? I've had a bit of a play in the BIOS but, not being overly competent in that area, didn't want to mess around too much. Any advice? I've tried my RAM sticks in positions 2 and 4 on the motherboard, but that doesn't seem to change anything.

If anyone can suggest by the Samsung SSD is performing so poorly as well, that would be much appreciated!

Many thanks,

Pete

Useless benchmark.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for replying - can you elaborate? I'm not sure what you mean by useless benchmark. Should I have done it another way?

Thanks,

Pete
That benchmark is useless because it compares your system to unknown samples and gives wrong comparison. You should use some impartial benchmark like one found in Aida64 https://www.aida64.com/ or Passmark https://www.passmark.com/ which give you independent results.
