[SOLVED] Under performing New Build

Good Day,

I recently built a new PC but is under performing compared to a friends.
In Battlefield 4 I get around 70-90fps at 1080p with dips to 50-60 alot which I feel should be alot higher for a GTX 1080.
In most other games I get at least 40 fps less my friends build which is also running a GTX 1080.
Even when watching youtube benchmarks on the 1080 mine seems far behind in the fps they get compared to what I get.

My PC:
Ryzen 2600, not overclocked, stock ryzen cooler
ASUS ROG B350-F Motherboard
8GB DDR4 clocked to 3200Mhz (1x8gb)
EVGA FTW2 GTX 1080, Overclocked Memory to 5500 and in game core clock is always 2000 else its usually around 1780 core clock is not overclocked by me comes out the box like that.

Could it be the lack of memory or that its in single channel? Maybe my CPU bottleneck?

My Friends PC:
Ryzen 2700X, not overclocked, water cooled
ASUS ROG B350-F Motherboard
32gb DDR4 clocked to 3200Mhz (4x8gb)
Gigabyte GTX 1080 windforce, no overclocking

The temps on the GPU never go over 65C
and the CPU never goes over 60C

Ryzen takes a pretty big hit with single channel RAM. Single channel at 3200mhz is often worse than dual channel at 2133mhz.

While I could not say for Battlefield 4. Battlefield 5 takes a huge hit with single channel. This benchmark is with an Intel CPU. Which typically aren't as affected by RAM speed as Ryzen. I would expect the ryzen hit to be worse.

Here is another series of games on Intel. With Dual vs Single channel. They are mostly quite bad. I would expect the Ryzen differences to be worse.

Think its just time to go buy another 8gb memory module.
Seems the single channel is causing me the issues.

Buy the exact same make and model number. Hopefully, it will work right at full speed and dual channel. Which isn't guaranteed for memory not sold in matching sets. A first party brand like Crucial usually works fine as they make the RAM. A third party brand like Corsair may not as they source parts and manufacturing to from multiple chip vendors and assemblers.
