I have a slightly odd question.
Is it possible to lower the BCLK of a Core i3-2125?
Yes, I know that's old, but I'm putting together a desktop that is designed to emulate my first laptop.
It had a Core i3-2365M, which runs at ~1.4GHz, so I'm planning to get a Core i3-2125 and lower its BCLK to 42, setting its clock from 3.3 GHz to ~1.4 GHz.
If that's possible.
It's going to be paired with an ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe motherboard.
Thank you!

Mobile processors don't necessarily do the same instructions per sec as their desktop cpu counterparts.
You might be able to lower the max multiplier if your bios supports it or lower maximum processor state in Power Options to accomplish the same effect

I'm not going for an exact replica, but as close as I can to it.
I probably should have mentioned this before, but I'm going to install Linux Mint 17.3. My dad swapped it because I knew nothing about Internet safety and he got tired of removing all of the viruses that I got on it :)

Thanks!
I don't know much about chipsets previous to AM4 and 7th gen Intel.
I hope that the one I found works. It is missing two pins. According to the seller, this only makes one of the RAM slots not work.
I don't mind. I'm pretty sure my ASUS V400C laptop wasn't running 2GB in dual channel.
