Hey everybody,

I have two 1GB sticks of G.SKILL memory running in dual channel in my PC. They're rated for DDR2-800 at 5-5-5-15, as well as DDR2-533 at 4-4-4-10. I have a C2D e4300 OC'd to 266 FSB, all on a Gigabyte 965P-DS3 v3.3 motherboard.

Gaming's the only demanding thing I do on this PC. As far as gaming is concerned, would it be better to run my memory at the lower speed with lower timings or at the higher speed with higher timings?

In case anyone asks, I'm not interested in running my memory out of specification, unless this particular kit is some sort of miracle overclocker.

Here's a newegg link to the kit I'm using: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231098

I would run it 1:1. I don't think you get that much by using a divider. I don't believe that the C2D is that bandwidth hungry.

Edit:According to Anandtech it appears that you can increase the FSB to 1500 and keep it 1:1 on the stock cooler
Using Gigabyte's GA-965P-DS3 motherboard, our engineering sample was able to run at 3.375GHz (375MHz x 9.0) at 1.468V using a stock Intel cooler.

So you are gonna run your cpu, but not your mem, out of spec? Suit yourself. Anyway, as Zorg said, run it 1:1 for max performance OC enough to get it close to 800Mhz, tighten the timings to make up for it.
