Scored a 7970 for $175. I only game on a single 1080p monitor so the 7970 is a little op. I have been tinkering around with underclock settings so I can cut down on heat and noise and maybe reduce a little frame tearing. Any thoughts?

Solution
Hello, well the thing to do to eliminate frame tearing is enabling vsync.
Also, a 7970 is quite ok for a single 1080p monitor, but it won't run all games on max settings with decent framerates- so not really op.
Another thing(besides underclocking) to reduce heat and noise is to improve case airflow, add a couple of case fans, and clean dust off everything-if there is any.
