Underclocking RAM help CPU temperature?

Hi everyone,

I have an A10-5800K that has a heating problem. I'm ordering case fans and better thermal paste soon, but in the mean time, would underclocking my G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR3-2133 to 1866 have an impact on the temperature?

If so how would I tune it in BIOS? I already looked at a similar model for the timings example and tried them but my PC rebooted after logging in.

Stock cooler. Also, forgot to mention my current PSU is old and I'm getting a new one soon.

Also, heat idles at 50C and goes up to 90C.

Hello... Yes, reducing your FSB and or Clock Multiplier in your BIO's would be a Temperature reduction for you.

Thank you. How would I go about it in BIOS? I have a GA-F2A88X-D3H with UEFI Double-BIOS.

EDIT: Ok I reduced clock speed and turned off turbo mode and now I get way better temps... phewf.

Hello... It would be under your CPU tab/Page, CPU freq? CPU Clock?... Save settings and exit... Post a picture for me?
Yes, Turbo mode is not always needed for a Fast CPU/Memory/Computer settings.

Figured out why my CPU has been having heat problems! Had PC on 'High Performance' mode and I believe that keeps the turbo boost mode on permanently! OMG >,<
