Hello. I need some advice!

I built this PC myself and have been upgrading parts over the last few years. I don't know if I'm dumb or my PC is but it is underperforming in my opinion.

I play a game called Hunt: Showdown and only get like 30-60 FPS and I'm not sure why. I did a UserBenchmark but I don't understand what it means 😀

UserBenchmarks: Game 215%, Desk 91%, Work 220%
CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K - 87.8%
GPU: Nvidia RTX 4080 - 258.2%
SSD: SHPP41-500GM 500GB - 264.4%
SSD: Q-180 180GB - 68.2%
SSD: SHPP41-2000GM 2TB - 270.9%
HDD: Toshiba P300 3TB - 81.7%
HDD: Toshiba P300 3TB - 65%
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK64GX4M2D3600C18 2x31.5GB - 33.6%
MBD: Asus ROG STRIX Z490-E GAMING

Go into your bios and turn on XMP for the ram. You bought 3600MHZ ram but its only running at 2133MHz. The extra speed will give a boost to your CPU as well.

Also note take that benchmark with a grain of salt. Take your CPU, yes its being held back slightly because of your ram settings, but you also have to look at the entire picture. That benchmark takes every 10700k from people underclocking them for better thermals to people pushing the living snot out of them with overclocking into one group. if your running just the stock setting and letting the cpu boost when it wants you will always fall in the middle of the pack on the chart.

Ok, if a CPU issue the FPS should increase a lot at 1080. Sounds silly, but make sure you aren't using your iGPU. Game looks like a CPU hog, and 1440 is pushing it hard.

Start with the ram and see what that does for perf.

Then slowly start updating the bios and drivers and testing.

When you run userbench close the browser.
