When refurbing HP Laptops I often have a choice of replacement mobos. I tend to keep whatever CPU is on the failed board, and have a choice of GPUs. So for instance, I might have an AMD A8 with a Radeon HD 6600M and 6700M series Adapter as on this machine according to Device Manager.
And when looking at Screen Resolution Properties
Now, when trying to re-sell the laptop, its useful to know what its capable of, in terms of what games it will play etcetera, which means identifying the GPU accurately. So what GPU do I check performance for? Does 6620g represent the Dual Graphics? And what about Crossfire? (I'm not a gamer so this area is all a bit of a mystery to me!)
So, question is, what GPU identity should I use for performance figures for games?
It would also be useful to understand Intel CPU and Radeon HD combinations, here's a sample of Intel/HD combos, do I check against pure HD 6490M or do these have Dual graphics??
