[SOLVED] Understanding Mhz.......or not?

Currently doing my first build, very limited understanding of most things but Im getting there. What I am struggling with though is understanding which RAM to get? I will be using the corsair vengeance rgb pro 16gb,(2x8gb) but unsure which Mhz, 3000 or 3200? Im only using the ryzen 5 3400g on a x570 i aorus pro wifi motherboard, mostly as just a home pc and a little basic gaming. Any advice welcomed!

I'd get the 3200mhz as AMD Ryzen performs better with it be it better FPS or less often/drastic FPS dips. The motherboard supports faster memory but it really comes down to price as over 3200mhz the performance increases are a bit less and may not warrant a significantly higher price.

Does it need to be a ITX board? The Asrock B450M A/C is far cheaper ($85), has wifi/BT and supports the 3400G right out of the box.

There's also the ASRock A300 Deskmini which is a very small case that comes with a external PSU and a motherboard that supports the 3400G out of the box as well for $150. This doesn't have room for a dedicated GPU but would be great if you don't need a dedicated GPU, have little room to work with and/or want portability. If you do go this route make sure you grab the correct memory as it doesn't support desktop memory but 260-pin SO-DIMMs.

The 3400G has official support for 2933MHz RAM, that means that anything faster than that would be a memory overclock. Since that CPU has integrated graphics, higher speed RAM will increase graphics performance. https://www.anandtech.com/show/12621/memory-scaling-zen-vega-apu-2200g-2400g-ryzen Going with 3200MHz or faster is usually not a bad idea if you are going to be gaming on it. Here are a couple RAM choices.

Both of them have similar timings, but one runs 400MHz faster which in dual channel mode gives you an extra 4.4GB/sec theoretical RAM bandwidth that the GPU can use. For that reason the extra $13 makes sense for the 3600MHz RAM.
