Hello!

So I have had trouble with my 1600 recently, atleast I think the cpu is the problem... The performance Is great but pretty much every time i restart my pc arfter a night of gaming it's like the pc runs at 30% speed and not 100%. I've checked the usage on all cores and they all run on 100% while running Cinebench. The only way to "fix" this temporarily Is to restart the pc again.

When the pc is running fine = 1260 score in cinebench
When it's running bad = 460
¨
No other programs are open consuming cpu power, only cinebench.

Running a 1600 oc @ 3,8Ghz and 1,375 volts and a stock 1080ti asus rog strix.
Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200Mhz

I have reflashed bios and done a clean windows 10 install

Anyone have any tips?

I'd run malewarebytes to see if there's some malware on your system maybe causing issues. Maybe even disable your AV application while its running poorly to see if thats causing the issue (or just uninstall it completely and see if it helps).

He's done a clean install of windows, so I doubt malware is the problem here.

This sounds most like heat problem, or a faulty thermo reader on your motherboard. Reducing clock speed and throttling back is an automatic fail-safe on most modern CPU's if the system thinks they are getting too hot. Check your temps when your CPU is running at 30%. If your motherboard supports it, you could turn off the thermal monitoring in your BIOS (don't recommend this unless you know it's the sensors that are messing up and not the actual components overheating)

Upon further investigation I now can see that my cpu is locked in at 1,560Mhz for some reason, I have cleared cmos but still comes back unless I run It at stock speed and settings. Is there any setting for this? Maby some power saving mode or something?

Using a asus crosshair hero 6

You should get 3,8Ghz OC at stock voltage.

Maybe that's causing overheating.
