Unexisting data swallowing capacity.

Hello people, i got a problem here. My computer the last day have for some weird reason suddenly decided to fill my hard drive with the remaining free 100GB i had on it with data that does not exist. The data is nowhere to be found.

It might be a virus but i am not sure. My main suspicion however is the game Baldurs gate 2 which i recently installed(it is virus free btw) and it i think it might be saving each auto save, quick save and manual save as a separate file thus filling my computer. I believe that the ''no existent data'' is only appearing during and recently after i played this game. Uninstaling it is not helping. Neither is reinstalling and uninstaling it again.

Before i had installed it had only 140GB worth of data on hardrive 1 (WINDOWNS (C: )

Anyone got a possible solution?

Baldur's Gate 2 would not fill that much space. Likely you have some sort of infection (virus or other malware). You need to perform a full anti-virus and anti-malware scan of your system.

What anti-virus program are you using? Also, if you don't have an anti-malware program now, I suggest you get Malwarebytes. Get it here:

Install the program, perform an update, then a full scan. Delete everything it finds.

download windirstat it will show you what is going on. If that is a pirated version of the game then good luck, you are probably infected with something.

I am currently using Avast! But i will install this and see if it works, anyhow i appreciate people helping. Will report later for results.

That is not a certainty.
There have been a few instances of commercial applications and games coming pre-infected in the past. Unlikely, but it has happened.

It worked, it seemed like i somehow had started taking screencaps of the cap all through the game, mking a total of 34 thousand pictures and 73GB worth of data. Thanks for helping me. Saved a computer this day!
