Unexpected death of a MSI b75ma-e33 motherboard

Hi,
I have a question about such a situation that happend to me. When I connected the mentioned mobo to a monitor using its integrated VGA port it died. So now I have a question if you have this mobo with a CPU Xeon without an integrated graphics and you connect it to a monitor a mobo will be dameged or just not working. Thx for your help!

Shouldn't no. Is your Xeon on the CPU support list? Does the BIOS version support the CPU? MSI isn't known for good QC so it may be something physical on the mobo.

Need an E3 Xeon and bios 7808 v10 for it to work.

This isn't my computer and it worked for about two years when I got there and found a failing graphics card. One more curiosity about this is that this computer could boot into Safe Mode with one monitor but not with another.
