Hello,

First of all I want to mention that with my current hardware configuration everything was working well more then 3 years.

About 2 month ago my UPS's battery died and instead of replacing battery I decided to buy new UPS, and after a week or two a problem started: computer reboots unexpectedly without windows Bluescreen or any warnings so it's not software failure. I blamed to my new UPS and tried to connect Computer directly to outlet without UPS, about 2 weeks computer was working without any unexpected reboot this way, now I was sure that problem was with my new UPS, I used my new UPS's battery for old UPS which was working well until battery died, connected computer on old UPS but problem was same in a day computer rebooted at least twice, because PC had not problem without UPS I decided that problem was within battery and I bought new battery but still problem is a same, keep in mind that without UPS there is no problem. Can this kind of failure caused by PSU ? If it is why doesn't reboots when computer connected without UPS or what can be a problem ? please any advices.

First UPS - Tripp Lite AVRX750U / Battery - Leoch 12v/7.0a
Second UPS - POWER UPS-650VA / Battery - Power 12v/7.0a

PSU - CODEGEN 500W (model 500x)

Psu is not good at all, and I cant find any info on the Power UPS. The PSU doesnt seem to be active PFC so I don't think its a sine wave issue. My bet would be its a holdup time issue. Lower quality PSUs have a horrible holdup times and if the UPS has to switch to or from battery there's a very small amount of time(milliseconds) where there's no power, with a good PSU this isn't usually an issue but with many low quality units(especially older models with degraded caps) it can't handle it and shuts down. You are probably getting just enough of a low voltage spike for the UPS to switch but not low enough to shutdown the PSU when its not connected to the ups.I'd replace the PSU even if it not the issues it should be replaced as its posses a danger to the system as these low quality units tend to take other parts with them when they fail.

Thanks for your explanation,

Yes PSU is very cheap but did his job at least 3 years, I'm going to replace with new one and I found this model: Thermaltake SMART SE 530W (SPS-530M) would you recommend replacing with this one, my computer consumes about 200 - 250 watt on high load.

And if I go with this new PSU it seems support "Active PFC" and currently I'm using Tripp Lite AVRX750U which is old UPS and in specification written that "Output AC Waveform: Sine wave" is it possible that this new PSU & UPS configuration encounter problem (you had already mentioned sine wave issue).

Okay, I will buy EVGA 750w B2, thanks for your recommendation.
