Hi all, I have a brand new gaming PC and I have noticed in reliability history that it sometimes says ‘critical error: unexpected system shutdown’, but I haven’t noticed anything wrong with the device and it turns on and off as expected. Is this a hardware fault? I have tested the hardware and it seems fine. Cheers.

This would indicate that you have had "black screen shutdown" or that you are using the hold the power button or reset button to turn the PC off. It can be thrown in relation to a bad power supply as well.
Hi, thanks for replying. I am not holding the power button or reset button to the PC off. The PC is brand new in regards to the PSU and doesn't happen all the time, only a few times a week it seems so far.

You're getting Error 41 and yet you say that "...it turns on and off as expected". Do you use the shutdown option to "turn it off" or do you hibernate or sleep it?

The error 41 message means that Windows wasn't shutdown properly, so the two statements above (error 41 and "turns of normally") are not possible.

I had put the laptop to sleep yesterday, and then turned it off at the end of the day like normal.

What I mean when I say it turns off normally is that I wouldn’t notice the error unless I had gone digging for it, so I was just wondering if I need to be concerned.
