Ok, are you SURE I can't die before the end? 😉

I'm on Spire. I can see from the topics of posts here that I'm not the
only one having difficulty in this age. But I haven't read any of the
posts and dont' want spoilers -yet :)

Spoiler space for what I have and haven't done on this age so far

I haven't figured out the circuit board puzzle or the chair/keyboard
puzzle. I've found lots of info scattered around Spire and still have no
clue about these. But I don't want help with those -yet. What I have
managed to do is bring the ship down so i can get in it. But I'm scared
sh*tless of pusing that d*mn lever forward to actually *move* the ship
since I haven't worked out the other two puzzles yet. I'm afraid I'm
going to go crashing down through the clouds. Are you SURE I can't do
something stupid and die at this point?

myself to death with all the zaps I've gotten!)

You can't die in Myst 4. I promise. Once you can get in the "rock ship",
then you can fly to the other "castle". Quit being so paranoid. You can
alway save right before you do something that you *think* will kill you
so can come back to that point again.

If you haven't aligned the rockship properly the bridge to it won't show up.
If you haven't grounded all the necessary lightning rods/crystal floating
thingies, the ship won't move forward if you pull the lever. Only if
everything is set up correctly will it do anything.

And also, you wouldn't crash to the ground even if you could. After all,
Sirrus said in his diaries that the rocks' natural tendency was to float
*higher* than the nearest palace, so the electromagnet is to keep it low
enough. If you could fly with the settings incorrect (which you can't), the
ship would escape and you'd forever be floating around there. But you
wouldn't die instantly, only later of starvation and thirst. ^_~

That part's right.

Ok. I was worried about something Sirus said in his diary about the one
in his first test breaking free.

Very good point! lol! Thanks again for the reassurance! Now I've gotta
figure out how the heck to make the rest of that stuff work -Don't tell
me! :)
