Unidentifed Ethernet Network on Asrock B350 Pro 4 Windows 10

I am currently experiencing unidentified internet connection on my Ethernet connection, and feel like I have tried everything under the sun to solve the issue. When running the windows trouble-shooter it comes up with "Ethernet 4 Does not have a valid IP configuration"

I have tried using a new nic, updating the drives. Running the following commands, these actualy seemed to fix the problem untill I restared my machine, now they have no effect.

Something to note is my internet was working fine before I changed router to the: TL-WR841N. I would be concerned about the router except for the fact the two other Ethernet devices still work absolutely fine without issue, and without modification. I Also do not know if it is any coincidence that it all stopped working with the windows Fall Update, but I did try rolling back to a previous version of windows 10, which had no effect.

I have tried setting a static ip address on the adapter, as well as on the router using the mac address of the nic, as it seemed like the adapter was failing to find the dhcp server. I know there is a physical connection between the router and the machine, as both have green lights. I have also tried reinstalling the device to no avail.

On an slightly unrelated note I have also tried updating the router firmware but I am greeted with file has the incorrect length, so I have been unable to upgrade the firmware of the router.

Ok, I have the asrock ab350m pro4. All I had to do to solve the same problem is to go into the BIOS (restart the PC and spam the DELETE key). Then go in tools and easy driver installer. If is still doesn't work go in network configuration.

I tried your suggestion, however easy driver installer was failing with no internet connection. I have also tried installing the drives directly from ASrocks site to no effect.

Downloading drivers won't change much if you can't even access internet inside of the BIOS. Did you plug your Ethernet cable from the modem directly to the pc? Also do you see any light flicker inside the Ethernet port in your motherboard?

I can see an orange light flickering on the motherboard Ethernet port.

I can also see the device is sending packets but not receiving anything.

Hi, I am running the latest version of the bios: 3.30.

Could it be a defect on the motherboard, that is preventing Ethernet from working?
Given that I have tried with two pic-e nic's and neither worked?

Thanks Tanoxil, I am currently running a pci-e express wireless card fine. So I guess it probably isn't a motherboard thing?

I think it's a motherboard problem. Maybe try this:
1) Shut down your PC.
2) Unplug the power cord.
3) Remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard
4) Walk away from the problem for at least 30 minutes.
5) When you return, reconnect battery and power cord.
6) Start as usual.

So i think the Ethernet port on the mb is dead, I followed your steps, and still had the same issue, so I turned off put in a new nic and so far I have Ethernet.

Do you know of any good stress tests that I could run to ensure the connection is stable, as I have managed to get Ethernet on this machine before, but on a restart the connection was gone?

Just resumed from hibernation and getting the same error again. Still on the new nic.

Maybe the motherboard after a while does not recognize the nic? Shut down your pc. Remove the power cord. Press the power button repeatedly to remove all electricity completely. Remove the nic and put it back in place. Does your ethernet work again? For the stress test, the only one I know is this one: http://www.speedtest.net/

Thanks for the suggestion, but no joy.
I just do not understand the results ip config is giving me. The subnet is completely wrong, just looks like windows is refusing to connect to the dhcp server. Which is weird as the wireless is picking up the dhcp server just fine. I am pretty sure that taking out the nic turning on the pc, then restarting with the nic in would result in a working connection.

You said that two other devices worked perfectly fine with Ethernet. Try swapping the hard drive to see if it's a software issue.

Just had this issue.

I knew it was NOT a hardware issue on my router end/wire end:

• 
  Reset router
  Confirmed network connection with another computer/ethernet cable
  Tried manually setting DNS/IP servers
  Reset winsock
  Flush dns
  Disable/Renable adapter

Installing the latest network driver fixed it. I got it on the Asrock website, and another user confirmed this fixed his issue. I now have full internet connection
