Question Unidentified Network Problem with Ethernet

Have been searching all over for a solution and nothing I have seen so far about this issue works. Before I’m able to ask for any help, I must say that my desktop does not have wifi capabilities (don’t know why honestly but that’s the way it’s always been). Got a new modem recently and the ethernet connection stopped working suddenly. I get the error “Unidentified Network”. When I run the Windows Troubleshooter for it, the issues found are “Ethernet doesn’t have a valid IP configuration”. How do I set this up? Would really appreciate any help! I’m in Windows 10 with a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller adapter.

Likely a network configuration setting but more information is needed.

Update your post with full system hardware specs.

What make and model modem did you get?

Do you have both a modem and a router (two devices) or a combination modem/router? If both, include the router's make and model.

On the desktop: Are you able to run and post the results of "ipconfig /all" (no quotes) via the command prompt.
