Hi,

I recently moved and am trying to connect to the internet via ethernet, but my network is saying it is connected to an unidentified network with no internet access. I tested the cable with my Xbox One and it works fine. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I am running Windows 10.

Thank you

Unplug the network cable and re-connect it while the PC is on and Windows is running. If that doesn't fix it, open a command prompt (CMD) and type ipconfig /all. Do you have a 169.254. IP address? You have a problem with your ISP, modem or router if you do.

It looks like I do have a 169 address: 169.254.153.183. How do I fix that?

Windows assigns a 169.254... IP address if the device can't see a DHCP server. Is your cable/DSL modem connected to a router? Connect directly to the modem if possible. The router might be bad.
