My GPU is fried after my daughter decided it needed a drink of breastmilk. Looking up different GPUs online, I've settled on a GPU from NVidia when I WAS running an AMD Radeon HD 6850. I'm told I have to uninstall my graphics drivers before plugging in the new GPU. How can I do this since I have no display (no onboard gpu)? Is it 100% necessary?

Solution
You can install the gfx card and boot to Win. It will install a default driver to let you use the PC. Uninstalling the old gfx driver isn't 100% necessary, just good housekeeping. Once you get to the desktop, you can download the correct driver from Nvidia (or use the one on the driver disk). Uninstalling the old AMD driver can be done later.
