I have been trying to remove quicktime but the message comes up
a program or control panel appears to be running. Uninstallation cannot
continue
unless you exit all programs using quicktime. As far as I know quicktime is
not
being used - Help.

Exit the QuickTime program that is running in the notification area . QT
puts it there during a default installation. Once you exit, try uninstalling
QT again.

Hi

Reboot your system and then try again to uninstall QT. Failing that,
reinstall it, then uninstall via Programs>QuickTime>Uninstall QuickTime.
