Hello, I have uninstalled Norton but now Windows Defender won't start and at Services it's set to Manual and I cannot change to Automatic as it says "access denied"

Also this it gives error 0x800106ba
And also https://postimg.cc/2qxgXS0V

Help 🙁

UPDATE

It's impossible to make it work. Only reinstall would help. Don't even waste time.

Might give this a shot also to try to remove Norton totally. We used to use Symantec at work and they had a tool called cleanwipe that we had to run sometimes if Symantec broke itself. Which as most know Symantec is basically the parent company of Norton.

Try the registry file under Option Two here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5918-how-turn-off-microsoft-defender-antivirus-windows-10-a.html

Another idea:
Open start menu, type in Security, it should show Windows Security. You may see several, click on the > arrow to open more options. Look for one that says "App Settings". Go to it and choose Reset.

Last resort would be Reset your PC (but choose to keep files). I would still backup beforehand.

Tried all that, only Win reinstall would work, but I don't want to do that so I bought Bitdefender on a sale :)

Thank you all
