Uninstalled windows when i installed Ubuntu 14.04

I installed Linux ubuntu 14.04 to my alienware x51 and i unknowingly uninstalled windows 7 64-bit Aleinware Edition. Know when i tried to install windows 7 64-bit Ultimate from install disc it gives me a error. The disc only boots in legacy mode and from there i cannot install it as it will not detect the hard drive

you probably wiped the Hard drive as you placed it for ubuntus installations!,about the drive being un noticed! check ubuntu and see if you can browse it! i suspect it is in a format only ubuntu can read! check the drive properties!,you could give it a hard format with killdisk on a bootable cd but i suggest trying to get windows to work if anything!

Ubuntu formats the HDD in another file system. You have to format your HDD in NTFS again in order to be recognized by the Windows Setup again.

what format does windows read?

you can usually choose when formatting the HDD!,such as ntfs which is read by both Operating systems!,While Ubuntu would swap to something such as a ext4/ext3/ext2/ext format!

FAT,FAT32 and NTFS but the Windows 7 Setup format the HDD in NTFS by default.
