I'm uninstalled games on my pc that I don't play anymore. I uninstalled some of them in "add remove programs" and some of them I uninstalled by going in "all programs" , game folder, uninstall. It says to manually delete some items after the auto uninstall is complet. Other then the icons and folders in "all programs". What other items should I manually delete??? And where exactly are they???

far as i know when it says manually remove stuff it means its usually left a folder in program files with savegame and other crap which i just delete.. all games usually leave behind registry crap as well but after my very first trip to the registry and the resulting reinstall of windows i had to do as a result i leave that [-peep-] to its own devices :)

basically uninstall the game... make sure its home folder is gone from program files annnnd oh ya some games (usually microsoft) leave folders in "my documents". apart from that there aint no need to worry about what else is left.

If you want to uninstall a game(for good) allways do a reg search for <game's name> and <game's manufacturer>. uninstall progs will almost allways leave some strings in the registry.

I went in regedit. I clicked on the menu called "edit" and clicked on "find". I typed "electronic arts", clicked "find next" Then it says "finished searching throught the regitry".

Does that mean there's nothing for need for speed in my registry? Or is there another way to search???

I searched myself and I found stuff on porsche unleashed. Why didn't the search find it?

There's a folder called "electronic arts" and in that folder there are folder called "ea games"(for bf 1942. I don't want to delete that). And there's another folder called "3d data" is that for porsche unleashed???

A better way to clean your registry is to go here and download Ace Utilites. It is only a trial version, but it has a good little regisrty cleaner that will search and find all un-udes reg keys, etc, and you can then delete what you don't need.

Manually editing the registry can be dangerous, I would suggest this program for removing keys.

WIN2K PRo SP4

Be careful when uninstaling games/programs that have a common main folder.

You will notice that when you uninstal some games/programs, that there are some folders left that are used with other games, etc.

Don't delete these folders as they are shared - other programs will not run if they have missing files.

zemuron dont touch the registry... at the end of the day its not worth it... the space yur saving by "cleaning" it is tiiiiiiny ffs and you risk messing your system up... just uninstall the game, delete the main directory folder and stop being so obsessively neat about yur HD 😛

It's best to keep your saved games, you never know. What if a game you have deleated comes out with a add on.. are you going to have to start over?
If you need to just get a larger hard drive.
