My motherboard is a TOSHIBA SATELLITE C55-A-1PX. I use an Intel i5-4200M 2.50GHz.

When I open Device Manager and I go to the "Other Devices" category, I see three items:

SM Bus Controller
Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
Unknown device

I'm asking because my USB hub is not working. Help is appreciated, thank you ! :)

EDIT: I installed a driver from Intel and SM Bus Controller is no longer there, but now 3D Video Controller appears. My Nividia video card is no longer recognized. :(

So I went to the Toshiba website...

http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

...and filled the form like this:

PRODUCT TYPE: Notebook
FAMILY: Satellite
PRODUCT SERIES: Satellite C Series
MODEL: Satellite C55-A
SHORT MODEL NO.: empty
OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 7 - 64 bit
DRIVER TYPE: Display Driver
COUNTRY: All
LANGUAGE: English

If you try that yourself, you will see that the search comes with 4 queries: 3 Intel drivers and 1 Nvidia driver. Should I install that Nvidia driver?

I guess I don't need to download drivers for both videocards now...the Intel one is working fine and is my only life line.

EDIT: Would this help? I guess I should stick only to the manufacturer's website.

Installing the driver from the website I linked did nothing. Help? I don't want to try something foolish. :S

So I install them all? Going to the Device Manager > Other Devices > 3D Vision Controller > Properieties > Update Driver > Next > Manually select drivers > Next > Display adapters > NVIDIA brings a list of drivers, including a lot of "NVIDIA Geforce 710M" ones.

What should I do? Install these drivers you gave or try these first?

EDIT: Installling your drives did nothing to help me, the problem is still there (both the USB and GPU problem). Let's just focus on the GPU problem for now, as I'm desperate to get it working again. When I open Device Manager and open the "Other devices" tab I no longer see the "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller". Now there are only 2 items under "Other devices":

3D Video Controller
Unknown device - this one is probably related to something about the USB, who knows? The ports work just fine, but my 2.0 non-powered USB Hub I'm trying to get to work doesn't.

Like I said above, do I go with the drivers I found on the computer? The risk is that I may screw up my hardware, and like I said I'm not 100 % sure it's the video card. What else can it be otherwise?
