I've barely scratched the surface of Sims2 so I certainly don't need
University yet for entertainment value so I guess I'm wondering about
objects, clothing etc, Any great new things?

I am in the same boat; I only had Sims 2 for 3 weeks before I got Uni almost
a month ago. I definitely think it's worth your time if not just for the
art career reward and the showbiz career reward. I'm not much into zombies
but I'm looking forward to making a few.

I guess to sum it up, you'll have a lot more fun buying it now while 2 is
still new to you. There's a lot more interaction to be had and the influence
option saves money on maids and gardeners. :)

Well a few things are good. I love the bands. The exrta want slots and the
ability to lock two wants is handy too.

I love the pool table, it is really interesting to watch them play. They
seem to love it too.

There are some new objects, most notably several musical instruments
(although for some reason they can only be used by adults). Also cell
phones, gameboys and mp3 players which cut down on the walking. However,
by far most of the expansion is about gameplay extensions: New social
interactions, new life goals, and personal development through education.
This makes sense, since the fans continually produce new objects, but are
hard pressed to create truly original extensions to gameplay.

Thanks for the feedback everybody. Looks like I'm headed to Amazon to get
University!

How do I buy a cell phone for a non-university sim? I didn't
find any in the city.

You have to add the kiosk that sells them to the community lots
yourself.
