Question Unknown part from prebuilt pc

I was taking apart an old prebuilt pc, and I found a part that looks familiar but I have no idea what it does. On the back it's called an SFA Converter Board. I searched google but didn't get any results. I'm assuming it's one of those parts that are only found in prebuilt computers. I'm curious and would like to know what I can about this.

May be easier for us to help with that knowing what it came out of and from what area.? What was connected to it?
