Approximate Purchase Date: Now
Budget Range: Unlimited. I got plenty of fund but I don't want to spend more than necessary.
System Usage from Most to Least Important:
  • Music writing and production. I use Cubase and Ableton. I do composition using samples and mixing. I use usb midi keyboards and other usb midi controllers. I don't record live instrument as of now.
  • Photo editing. I use Adobe Lightroom. I shoot with Nikon D750 and I shoot RAW.
  • Video editing. I use Adobe Premiere Pro. I only do this about once a year so really low priority.
Are you buying a monitor: Yes. I want dual monitor setup
Parts to Upgrade: I need all parts. I'm building from a scratch
Do you need to buy OS: Yes
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com
Location: Orange County, California
Parts Preferences: The best for my purpose :)
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: Do I need any of these?
Additional Comments: Need lots of USB ports because I have plenty of usb midi controllers. Need PCI express for internal audio interface. Could you tell me if I need to purchase certain cables/parts that are not included?
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: My current desktop is over 10 years old. Processing photos are slow, and well just about doing anything is slow compared to my 2-year-old laptop.

New Ryzen CPU's launching this Thursday. They will be killer for productivity. You could pair one with a 3070, even a 3080. for RAM, 32GB would probably suffice.

Is it wise to get it if I want reliability and proven track record? I tend not to get v1 of anything.
