I really would like to find out how to enable all 2 of my APU's cores as in the bios and on the AMD website it says it is a dual core 3.7GHZ AMD A4 5300 Trinity APU, this is also displayed in my BIOS screen on the ASUS A68 HM-Plus mobo using bios 1401. However in windows 8.1 the system specs list 1 processor with only 1 core, and before anyone says it... task manager only shows 1 logical processor core. I've tried using parkontrol to unpark the 2nd core and tried using msconfig to enable both cores yet only one is shown. All help is appreciated.
I felt it was worth noting that I upgraded my cpu, mobo and PSU most importantly the previous CPU was a celeron dual core intel product but using the exact same HDD with the same windows installation I moved it to my upgraded A4 5300 APU PC. Could this be the culprit?

Reusing the same Windows install when switching between AMD and Intel platforms may have numerous odd side-effects. Having the wrong APIC and other multi-processor-related drivers installed could very well explain why Windows is unable to initialize more than one CPU.

Thank you for the quick reply... also I think my HDD is dying so I may replace it soon with a new HDD along with a fresh windows installation. Anyway I will select this as the answer. Thank you for your support :)
