Hey,
i'm trying to unlock or flash a new bios onto my R9 295x2. it is the sapphire version. the reason i wanna do this because my card thermal throttles when it hits 75 degrees Celsius and just wondering i would have a chance of unlocking the max temp with a bios flash so can some one tell me what software and what bios to flash. BTW i tries to adjust the fan speeds in msi afterburner i can't AMD doesn't allow us to manually adjust the fan speeds on this particular card
Cheers

i did the adjust the power limit to max in afterburner but can't adjust the fan speeds or temp target. there is an option to adjust the temp target in crimson settings but 75 degrees is the max and my card hits 75 degrees when playing games for 10 mins and not even in 4k just in 1080p my pc has perfect airflow.

First of all I will give you a link to the graphics card bios repository.

You will find a bios there, for your exact model and brand of Pci-e graphics card Slayer.

If you look on the webpage you will also find some bios flashing software to use, under the downloads tab of the webpage.

Ati winflash v2.6.7 to keep it simple Gui in windows.

Make sure you get the exact details of your bios firmware on the graphics card you have.

Get it slightly wrong and you may brick the card Slayer.

Click bellow on the link, I hope it helps Slayer.

You can use the flash tool to read the current bios firmware and version installed on the card.
And make a backup of the current bios firmware running on the card, to your local hard drive slayer.

I recommend you do this if anything goes wrong so you can re flash the old bios firmware as a just in case.

Use the Ati winflash program found in downloads on the site.
Download and install it on your system.
Then run it to get the bios firmware information the card currently has.
And to backup the existing bios of the card to a file Slayer ok.

It`s hard to say, yes and no. It really depends on the bios firmware if there is a higher version number for your card.

They can tweak the fan profiles, for when the card hits or reaches a set tempreture slayer because the bios firmware is where the fan curves and % values or rpm speed of the fans on the card are set.

But you will not know till you flash the card with a newer bios firmware revision number if there is one for your card.
Slayer.

There are tools that you can use to edit the settings of the bios firmware such as fan speed profiles, Gpu clock speeds, and memory speeds.

But you really, and I mean really have to know what you are doing.
Get it wrong. and you brick the card.

i have the sapphire non -oc version there are two vbios available for sapphire card. i tried flashing one of them it said i already have that version installed so i tried the other and it flashed successfully i restarted the pc and there is no difference at all. just wodering if i could flash a version thats built for the same card but from a different brand like msi or xfx.
