Unlocking a locked Motorola Nexus 6

We found a lost Nexus 6 a while back. Went to the lost and found desk, nothing was done, waited for people to claim it, and stuff. I went home with it and turned it on to find some emergency numbers or something, but it looks like the phone is already been remotely locked. It asks for the last google account user to sign in, and nothing else. So I can't even access the home screen.

Been over a month now, so the phone is either garbage, or, can be reset and unlocked.
Is there a way to reset this phone without having to log in and go to settings?

No one is going to help you bypass security on any device for any reason. You dont own it. Throw it away.

yea thats a secutrity feature now of android phones where the only way to uinlock it would be to sign back into the last google account it was linked to. i know the galaxy S7 's and the nexus 6P had some workarounds to get past this so there may be one for that phone too.
