Unlocking

So, I have a Phenom x2 550 and a MSI 790fx-GD70 yet I can't unlock. I've tried all the bios that msi offers but none work. If i'm doing it wrong can someone give me a guide specifically for the mobo i'm using. And I heard of the 1.5b3 bios, but i can't find that anywhere, can someone give me a link to that?

You are in NZ too?!

BTW, I was so frustrated that the price of PII-955 came down so much two weeks after I bought my i5.

It cost about the same as i5 when I was building my PC.

lol, yup.

i built my rig right before the I5's came out. got a 550 for 140 bucks. absolute bargain. the 955's were so overpriced. most stuff is around here though.

hence why im holding off on getting a 5870. 700 dollars at most retailers. rip-off....

So I found this page http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=228417, and it has the custom bios for my mobo to unlock. However when i click on the download page for my Bios, IE MSI 790fx-Gd70 it brings me to the page error 404 not found. and i can't dl it. But for some reason, users on the forums have been able to dl it. Help?

The price of GFX is not that bad compared to other countries except for the US and Canada.

The GFX and PSU seems to be the only PC parts that are reasonable in price here.

well im always comparing to the US, and i cant help but feel ripped off. PSU's are well priced here, i agree. but buying CPU's, MOBO's and even RAM or HDDs is not good.

though im getting my second 4890 for only 300 bucks, which is actually cheapper than most US retailers. not bad.

From Playtech's special?

lol, yeah.

im not sure, im debating between the playtech xfx and oczone's cyclone.

im seem to be disucssing it with myself in that thread. but i cant decide. i want decent aftermarket cooling, but i dont know which of the two is better. the cyclone seems very good, but theres a chance it can be seated badly and have very high temps. and im having trouble finding a review of the xfx one.

The link you provided directed me to this thread..... ^^;

I would go for the one with Cyclone OPEN cooler and put it at the top PCIE slot if your current HD4890 is with reference CLOSED cooler, because it will prevent the air intake of your reference cooler being blocked.

you think?

i do like xfx, but i cant find any reviews of that exact model. and a forum i was on seemd to tihnk its cooler wasn't so great.

if i get the xfx, should i get a scythe musashi for my current card do you think? i should i keep it with the stock cooler?

lol, i just cant decide.
