Hi all,

I have an ssd with windows on and then a normal secondary hard drive with all my files on it, including my desktop (used the libraries feature to have desktop folder on a different hard drive).

I unplugged this secondary hard drive, booted (as i need the sata and power cable to look through another hard drive) turned off pc, and replugged in the secondary hard drive and now my desktop has gone and windows explorer is being super slow.

The hard drive is recognised in windows explorer and disk management.

Would love to get my pc back to how it was, any help would be appreciated.

Thank!

So....3 drives are involved here:
#1 -SSD OS
#2 - HDD, with your Libraries, incl the Desktop
#3 - Some random HDD, just for investigation.

You had the Libraries redirected to #2
You removed #2, and powered the system up
The OS had to do something to display a desktop. Which was unavailable due to that drive being disconnected.
So it almost certainly created a temporary profile, with a bare desktop.
It would seem that is what it is displaying now.

In the Libraries/Location, what location is it actually showing?

Thanks for your help! However I sorted it, I realised it renamed my hard drive to a different letter, hence it not finding my desktop. I renamed it back to the original letter and it worked!
