Unrecognized RAM stick

Hey!

I've been trying to upgrade my PC a bit by going from 3gb RAM (3*1gb) to 6gb (2*2gb+2*1gb). The problem is, my PC doesn't recognize the new sticks, in ANY combination of sticks / slots.

CPU-Z actually recognizes the sticks, but not Vista nor the BIOS.

Any ideas what to do?

More info and photos:

Intel quad core 2 Q6600
Max. RAM is 8gb
4 ddr2 slots

The only obvious difference between the sticks (other than their gb size) is their thickness. The 2gb is thinner:

Thanks on advance!

check the ram speed of the newer ram. most of the older 775 chipset motherboards used 800 speed ram. if the newer ram is 1066 the mb may not like it. also check to see if there any bios updates. some updates add newer ram code. also look online at the motherboard ram and cpu guild see if your ram is there.

run with just your old ram in there memory advisor. it tell you part and ram that will work for your motherboard. you be able to cross ref it with your ram yu have and see if it close.

Even when I put only one or two of the new sticks they aren't recognized, no matter what slots I use...
