I have an Asus 1080 and the Benq Swift PG278Q 1440p monitor. However there is this game that only supports up to 1080p (DW8XL) and every time I launch the game, my screen flashes once, similar to what those old TV does when the channel is dead or when you turn it off. I didn't think it matters too much, just the screen changing resolution from 1440 to 1080.
But today when I was playing, and alt-tab out, and alt-tab in, the screen became black and no matter what I do (task manager, trying to quit the game etc), I couldn't get the screen back. The game didn't die as the music was still playing and I could hear the menu selecting sound when I use the controller etc. But the screen was completely dead.
Is this related to the switch between 1440p and 1080p (I couldn't think of other causes)? If so, I could I avoid this problem?
