Just recently both my wireless headsets have decided not to work. Plugging in a bluetooth adapter no longer installs the right driver and fails to locate a new one. I feel like this problem might be with the usb audio drivers and the latest windows update has corrupted it somehow.
Searching through microsofts drivers, sony playstation golds no longer show up. I am at my wits end. Any help would be greatful.

Then it's a driver problem. It's a big of a long shot, but I would run a sfc /scannow. You can do that by opening a command prompt window and typing that in. This is a command that goes through your system files and corrects errors; much like chkdsk but this is more OS based.

If that doesn't work, a repair on the OS may be needed.

I just plugged them in and they worked, I always had to set them to default device in playback options but now they fail to show up there. It's almost as if Microsoft decided to stop supporting this sony driver. The driver for these things are nowhere to be found. I contacted Microsoft and apparently without an appointment I cannot acquire help from their advanced tech department lol.

The only thing I can think of in this case is a download or an update or something was downloaded that altered the drivers for these headsets or they just stopped working. What happens if you try using them on another system?

Hey Jackal, Yeah they both seem to work flawlessly on my laptap that is also windows 7 64x. Here is a screenshot of the working drivers on that system. http://prntscr.com/9s8fii I have compared and it seems i am missing the bottom 2 drivers from this system, how they went missing is a mystery to me. The 2 drivers missing are - windows\system32\SysFxUI.dll and windows\system32\WMALFXGFXDSP.dll I am having a hard time finding these drivers to replace the missing ones. I have checked the windows 7 disk, and microsofts website no luck. Any clue why these drivers went missing and where I could go to obtain them ?

Actually these 2 drivers do exists on my machine, just did not see them at first. Hmm unsure what to do now. Back to the drawing board.

lol, wtf isn't that backtracking a little bit ? Of course I looked in sound options, play back devices ect. The unspecified device fails to show up there to even be set to default.
