unstretch image on second monitor

I'm using a laptop as my main comptuer but recently added a larger second monitor. The image and the links pinned to the taskbar are incredibly stretched out and very blurry. I have tried several things from my control panel/display with resolution, etc. But nothing is helping? I need help! Can someone give me some advice??

Did you install the graphics driver for your laptop from the manufacturer´s support homepage?

Which laptop brand an model is it?
