Question Unsuccessful downloads

I get the error "This is a message from my plug-in! /html>"

The error "This is a message from my Plug-in! /html >" shows when I try to download an app. with Firefox web browser.
Must say that with Safari web browser and also trying to download an app, I get a dark grey browser window at the point it is suppossed to start downloading the file, but it does not happen.I can download .exe files, but they´re useless in my MAC.

I would greatly apreciate an answer intendet to work it out desperately!

Can you give a specific link? May just be a broken link? is this just with the firefox app downloads?

Hello and many thanks for your reply.
I´ve been testing with several web links and with Safari, Firefox and lastly with Internet explorer(Windows). With this browser I can download .zip and .dmg files (the only browser that works), unfortunately, it´s behavior is very unstable and impredectible and even I dont like its limitated GUI.
Also, I´ve downloaded Speed Download and Jdownloader just for uninstalling them after the installation to avoid any wrong unistallation which could cause the isssue.

It seems to me like I´ve lost some add-ons or browser files wich could produce the trouble, but I don´t know which of them could be missing.
