Question Unsupported CPU

I recently changed the cpu of my system, from an i3 2100 to an i5 2400, the motherboard im question is a h61m-k from Asus. The thing is i didn't realize the mobo doesn't support it, or at least that's what the official page and the Bios says. After running a couple hours of work the experience is really estable. Even with HeavyLoad at 100% cpu usage it resist to crash. My question is:
Is this safe?
Will it kill the cpu or the motherboard in the long run?

it can fry your mainboard

There are 2 versions of that cpu. The I5-2400(95w part) and I5-2400S(65w). The S model is listed on the motherboards cpu support list, but the other one isn't.
Download and run Cpu-Z. It should tell you exactly which one it is.

It's not necessarily running 100.Feel the heatsink as you will know if it runs that hot or not.What happened with the older motherboards if it doesn't support the cpu or have a bios that doesn't support it.It reads the cpu running 80-100C.If it does run that hot then it's not a good idea as it will in the long run give problems running that hot.

anyway his 4+2 vrm design without any heatsink would be hard to measure for temperatures

Can i underclock the cpu or something similar to overcome this?

U may want to downclock your cpu/ reduce voltage , disable boost
run hwinfo64 - sensors only
it should tell u how much cpu draws under load (ampers * voltage = watts)

You should try to underclock/undervolt in bios first, but it might be locked. In that case, I'd suggest trying with Intel XTU: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU-
If that doesn't work, I've heard Throttlestop is an alternative.

I think I would change out the i5-2500 for a similarly performing 3350P that is a lower voltage part that is supported.
It will sell for about $20 on ebay.
