Hello,
I have had the same problem. I have transferred some movies to my external hard drive. I have checked the properties of this hard drive and the file system is exFAt32. Movies are in AVI format. However, when I plug my external hard drive into the USB port on the Toshiba sd2010kb, I keep getting unsupported USB message. Please someone tell me how I can rectify this to enable movies to be played on DVD player via external hard drive

Check your player's documentation as to which file systems ( e.g. exfat32, ntfs, fat32 ) are supported and / or which drive types ( e.g. USB hard disk, USB flash disk ) are supported and / or which file extensions ( e.g. .avi, .mpg, .mp4, .divx ) are supported.

EDIT: I found the manual for your player, the Europian version. USB only supports FAT12, FAT16, and FAT32 file systems, .jpg, .divx, and .mp3 file extensions, and USB flash memory. There are also other restrictions as to file structure and file naming conventions for the USB flash memory.
