Unsure about M.2 bus speeds

Hi guys,

I was thinking about buying a Samsung SM951 M.2 SSD in the near future to save on Cables, more speed.

However after watching a youtube video on a review it was talking about PCI-E bus lanes changing in speed from x16 now being X8 for GPU and X8 for M.2 (Something like that)

I have a M.2 slot on my ASUS RANGER VII would that affect my bus speed of my Fury X GPU?

I was under the impression the x1 and x4 were routed differently then the x16 for the graphics.
