Hi! I am a long time gamer ever since I could hold a controller back in the NES days. All my life ive been a console person up until the newest gen (ps4/xbox1) I decided to stop getting consoles and build a pc. I did have a few desktops in my childhood but they were 1998 and 2000 windows and for my birthday a few years back I got a cheap laptop for my birthday. So as you can tell im a little skeptical about what parts go into it because I dont want a slow pc again. I want to be able to play battlefield 4 and the newest games coming out on medium to high graphics with at least 30 fps and the most bang for my buck.

Heres my build so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/bensor999/saved/ZpMwrH

Any and all help is appreciated thanks! :)

8350 is good but I wouldn't suggest it on a budget, plus a i5 is more than enough for BF4. This system won't overclock the CPU but it'll play BF4 on High/Ultra @ 1080p.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($196.97 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: MSI H87-G43 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($84.79 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.99 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 270X 2GB DirectCU II Video Card ($179.00 @ Newegg)
Case: Antec Three Hundred Two ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ NCIX US)

You don't need the extra CPU fan unless you plan on overclocking, the CPU already comes with one that works well enough. You also don't need the TP-Link adapter because your motherboard already has a port for wired internet access.

Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($16.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $792.69

Chose a better quality PSU. Dropped the TP-Link cuz mobo has what is needed. Went with 2x4GB RAM for dual channel which is slightly faster.

Solution
That's a mid level pc. If you want top end, you'll need a bigger budget. That being said, it'll still kick console butts.

The coolermaster hyper 212 evo would be a better cooler ($30)

An ASRock 990fx Extreme 4 would be a better motherboard - 990fx chipset is better than 970

Get 2 x 4gb GSkill cl9 1.5v 1866 ram unless you're going to buy another 8gb stick soon

Get a R9 270x instead of the 660 - less money, better performance

Get a better quality power supply - XFX550, Seasonic M12II 520, Antec HCG 520M

The motherboard will come with an ethernet adapter. Get a wifi adapter though if you need it eg TP-LINK TL-WN751ND 150Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter, Atheros, 1T1R, 2.4GHz, 802.11n/g/b, detachable antenna, 3 year warranty.

Thanks for the help I am eventually planning to add an 8 gb stick for a total of 16 gb ram but thatll be a while plus I wanna see how 8 gb ram does. After I get all these parts will I need any extra cables and what not? Or do they all come with the parts?

If you will add RAM then yeah get 1x8GB:
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($72.00 @ Newegg)

The PSU will have all the cables you need to supply power and connect to it. Also, the mobo will have plenty of cables. Just make sure you have also get some good thermal paste for the CPU.
Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g Thermal Paste ($6.98 @ OutletPC)
